Job Description:
Develops specifications, code, debug, document, and install for moderately complex software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. Develops, modifies and maintains Wyde applications that may be customized for internal and external clients. Participates in evaluating functional requirements captured by business analyst & design a high-level architecture solution, address possible risks and constraints. Deliver detailed architectural blueprints.
(This is the full-performance level class in the Software Developer series. It differs from the intermediate level in that employees are expected to have mastered the technical expertise required for performance of a wide range of systems development activities.)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
10+ years of experience in Wynsure.
Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications.
Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
Must have solid understanding of the Wynsure Data Model and the ability to write SQL queries and extract information from Wynsure database.
Testing system changes and debugging the code where there are issues/errors.
Implementing and delivering Wyde solution on customer site
Mentor tech leads and developers.
Debugging issues in current applications and proposing and/or implementing solutions
Explaining application usage to end users or other developers, including generation of documentation.
Explain architecture of application to technical experts / developers. Includes generation of documentation.
Assist in creating, running, and explaining demos for sales demonstrations at customer location.
Potentially specializing in one or more of these areas below:
Customization: Enhancing or designing and developing new functionality in existing or new applications and/or modules
Interfaces: Designing and developing data feeds to/from Wynsure. This may include using the wInterface tool
Data Migration: Participating in efforts to convert data from legacy data sources to Wynsure. This may include using the wMigrate tool.
Integration: Responsible for installing and deploying Wynsure environments.
Reporting: Participating in efforts to extract data from Wynsure database to build data warehouse and/or reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Architecture (40% of job responsibility)
Ability to understand and apply industry technical standards such as databases, infrastructure, web services, etc. in the context of a project.
Programming (15% of job responsibility)
Understanding business or technical requirements and translating to code using Wyde tools (eWAM) and language.
Application OO Design (20% of job responsibility)
Applying understanding of Wynsure's Object Oriented architecture to complete the analysis and design of significant developments.
Business Acumen (10% of job responsibility):
Understanding of the insurance industry and apply knowledge to comprehend client requirements.
Communication Skills ( 15% of job responsibility )
Be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with clients and prospects to understand their business needs. Interactive presentation skills, engaging prospects and clients .
General Requirements:
Strong technical skills and a strong interest in software development.
Ability to support a customer on a technical or/and business level.
Able and willing to travel, domestic and international.
Must possess strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Must possess critical and analytical thinking skills to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot system issues, as well as resolve accordingly.

Education:

The Information Technology Department has an opening for a Technical Lead in the Talent Management area.
