Position Summary
 
Armstrong Telecommunications is seeking candidates for a Senior Financial Accountant position in Butler, PA.  The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in the financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and analysis for Armstrong Telecom.  This position will develop and support project accounting processes and reporting.  The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results oriented professional who is an innovative thinker.  The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.  
 
Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Job Duties
• Prepares and monitors reimbursements of federally funded construction projects
• Develops project related operational and management reporting and associated analysis
• Communicates and presents project results to management and executive team
• Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Assists in the coordination of the month end close process
• Reviews accounting records and transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy
• Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts
• Participates in the timely preparation, review, and distribution of monthly quarterly, and annual financial statements including, but not limited to, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, local management reports, cost allocation reports, and capital expenditures reporting
• Develops and prepares relevant, meaningful and comprehensive management reports which provide comparisons to budget and historical trends
• Actively supports the annual financial audit process
• Proactively identifies areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting Department
Qualifications
 
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA or MBA preferred
• Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience

• Ability to adapt to changing demands and needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong technical, data, and reporting skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
