Description

Need a Data Quality BA with solid Excel VBA background, needs to be strong in data analysis but should come from a development background – Developer turned technical BA. The consultant will work in a team of 3 BA's from the client.

 

        An exceptional Business Systems Analyst in Data Quality to join its project management team. The analyst is responsible for analyzing business and technology needs, specifying requirements, and supporting project teams in the implementation of solutions. This is a hands-on role.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Act as internal consultant to functional, project, and executive managers.
2. Perform hands-on technical and business analysis of systems, data, vendor, and workflow needs.
3. Present solution options, incorporating cost-benefit and other analyses.
4. Model solutions and prepare prototypes using Excel, Access, SQL, Visio, PowerPoint, and other tools.
5. Document requirements and support test and acceptance activities.
6. Design, document, and implement policies and procedures.
7. Provide technical support to business users and production systems; troubleshoot and track issues, write database queries, build reports, parse files, configure system rules.
8. Train associates on procedures, workflow, systems, and data.
9. Liaise with internal and external technology solutions providers.
10. Support management and operations reporting.
11. Work closely with all functions – investment management, transitions, transaction operations, security setup, pricing, corporate actions, investment accounting, fund accounting, reconciliations, performance, reporting, transfer agent, fund administration, financial reporting, tax, compliance, law, finance.

 

Required

1. Bachelor's degree, in related field (technology, finance).
2. 5+ years in financial services / asset management, with business analysis and technology responsibilities.
3. Microsoft application proficiency, including Excel (formulas, macros/VBA, charts, pivot tables, vlookup), PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project.
4. Reporting proficiency using commercial reporting packages (such as ReportNet, BusinessObjects) as well as SQL (select, join, group, aggregate, calculate) directly against databases.
5. Attention to detail and quality in work products.
6. Strong problem-solving and critical analysis skills.
7. Ability to translate concepts among technical and business constituents at all organizational levels.
