We are looking for a Performance Engineer to support world's leader in providing IT consulting and software services to the finest global organizations client.

This is a 3- 6 months Contract Position based in San Francisco, CA / Charlotte, NC

 

Position: Performance Engineer

Locations: San Francisco,CA / Charlotte,NC

Duration: 3- 6 months Contract

Experience: 4 - 5 years

Job Description:

 

Qualifications Basic

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education

•          At least 4-5 years of experience with Application Architecture, Performance Engineering and Performance Tuning capabilities.

Preferred

•          Experience in performance Engineering, Performance Tuning, recommending architectural changes

•          Experience in thought leadership, as a consultant  for resolving typical performance issues, leadership/mentoring of staff and derive key decision making indicators and metrics for project sponsors, CXOs etc

•          Ability to lead performance tuning and optimization efforts across OSI layers (ie – network, database, configuration, app server, web server and other functional components) to ultimately identify, analyze, drive improvements, and  to validate performance and capacity KPI's.

•          Ability to identify performance bottlenecks from issues – complement development team in speedy analysis/root cause of performance issues

•          Execute both "black-box" and "white-box" performance evaluations and load/stress tests, collect and analyze results

•          Ability to lead performance optimization efforts with a strong command of complex performance issues and the ability to direct component owners (network, database, appdev, server OS/WAS, storage, etc.)

•          Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural stand point

•           Analytical skills

•          Support escalations and troubleshooting for performance-related issues

•          Performance trouble shooting (heap dump & thread dump analysis)

•          Application and infrastructure scaling analysis and recommendations

•          J2EE and/or .Net Diagnostic Skills

•          Performance results preparation and presentation for large efforts

•          Previous Development Experience Desired

•          Proficient in the following tools (–in Tuning and recommendations expertise)

dynaTrace, MeterExperience, HP Diagnostics, HP Performance Center, HP Quality Center, Introscope
