Position: AIX / Linux System Consultant

Location: Dallas, TX

Contract: 12+month

4.       FULL EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND needs to be on the resume 

Must Have:

10+ years overall experience with AIX and Linux

AIX version 6.x and 7.x

Red Hat version 5.x and 6.x

IBM P770, including VIO setup and system Tuning

Experience in working in a Large Unix Environment

Outstanding Communication Skills

Outstanding Documentation

Excellent at multitasking

Setting up new LPARs on P7 and P8 hardware

Setting up new VM's on ESX Servers

Has worked with LPM on AIX

Has worked with VMotion on ESX

Strong scripting skills

Excellent Troubleshooting skills

Works well alone as well as in a large team environment

 Nice to Have:

AME and AMS experience

Set up of VIO

ESXServer setup experience

Hitachi or EMC storage experience

Visio, Powerpoint

Middleware experience(Tomcat, Websphere, Weblogic, Jboss, etc.)

 Job Functions

1.             Installation of New IBM PSeries Equipment

·         Setup of VIO's

·         Creating LPARs

·         Installation of AIX

·         Working with Baseline Teams for standards and turnover of new AIX instances as each project comes to an end.

 

2.             Installation of New Linux Servers

·         Physical Racking of Servers

·         Create new Linux VM's

·         Working with Baseline Teams for standards and turnover of new Linux instances as each project comes to an end.

 Other info:

Will work on multiple company efforts on Installation of New Hardware, LPars or VM's

Will coordinate closely with the Project Team on multiple efforts with deadlines based on priorities

Expected to be able to work on several projects at once with little supervision

Will work and provide direction and requests to Network, Storage and Database teams on Project efforts.  

Many of the persons will be offsite/remote/offshore so good verbal and written communication is key.
