PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the IT infrastructure and stable operations of the site's computer networks and other IT related systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in deployment, monitoring, maintenance, data backup, documentation, upgrade, and support of all IT systems. This includes Email`s, Servers, Laptops, PCs, phone systems, hardware, software, mobile devices, peripherals, switches, cabling, and all associated operating systems and software.
• Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal downtime. Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and support as needed.
• Maintain Active Directory and Group policies, deploy servers, patch management, perform backups and server monitoring checks
• Maintain VMware Virtual Infrastructure farm
• Take ownership of issues seeing it through from beginning to end
• Support LANs, WANs, Internet and Intranet Systems
• Administration of GMP software as per regulatory requirements (21 CFR Part 11 and cGMP).
• Receive and respond to help desk tickets, phone requests, and/or e-mails regarding IT issues.
• Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of IT issues for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions.
• Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, end user binders, procedures, and manuals.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in the field of information technology or computer science, or equivalent professional experience in the system administration field.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum three (3-5) years' experience providing on-site IT administrative support
• Help Desk/Customer Service background
FUNCTIONAL OR TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Working technical knowledge of VMware, backup software, databases, networks, servers, and PC operating systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards
• Customer service mentality
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi task
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Problem solving

JOB CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Use of hands for fine manipulation
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching are required (Installation of infrastructure equipment, PCs and other hardware)
• Frequent walking to and from various employees office spaces
WORK ENVIROMENT
• Requires periodic travel between two physical locations, which are less than a 1 mile apart
• Prolonged stays in areas with moderate noise levels (sever room, mechanical rooms, etc.)
• Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coats, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory uniform and appropriate shoes may be required in areas associated with this position.
• Position may occasionally require extended hours including evenings and weekends, as needed
