Title: Senior Business Analyst - ALIP

Type: Contract

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 11+ months


Our client, a national Insurance leader, seeks a Senior Business Analyst with ALIP experience.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for serving as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

Possesses an understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile), technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprises competitive edge. 

May make recommendations for buy versus build decision.

Analyzes business partners operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.

Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.

Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization, and manages changes to such specifications.

Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.

Prepares reports, test and use cases, diagrams, process flows, presentations, and participates in meetings.

Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions.

Creates, reviews, and prepares system documents and specifications.


Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.

6+ years of relevant technical or business work experience.

Prior experience in the Life Insurance Industry is required.

Expertise in life Insurance business functions strongly preferred.

Must be able to create and translate high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization.

Experience serving as a Liaison between the business community and the IT Organization.

Understanding of change management processes and various project management methodology.

Ability to effectively deal with business users.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be team player and self motivated, work independently with minimum direction.

Experience in designing, developing, and test plans in multiple system environments.

Proficiency in MS Office required, including Visio.

Demonstrates specific functional expertise in highly utilized application packages including but not limited to CRM (Salesforce), ERP, (PeopleSoft), RPTG (Cognos)/ETL (DataStage), or other (PEGA, Sharepoint, PAM, ITIL, Ariba, etc.).

May involve analyzing IT security processes.
