We have an opening for "Db2 Database Administrator" with one of our client in New Castle, DE
Job Title: Db2 Database Administrator
Location: New Castle DE
Duration: 12 months
Interview Process: IN PERSON
Hrs: 37.5/week
· The Mainframe DB2 Administrator is responsible for installation and configuration, testing, debugging, patching, direct technical vendor interactions, performance tuning, and backup and recovery.
· Database Administrators have a range of skills and knowledge of the utilities and production tools used for data storage management to support the application teams.
· This position also supports IBM's InfoSphere CDC and Rocket Software's Shadow zDirect and zServices middleware.

· Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years
· Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
Role Description:
· DB2 for z/OS technical proficiency should be classified as Advanced to Expert
· Position will require off-hours availability for on-call support, and change implementation during the bi-weekly weekend maintenance window.
· Highly skilled at database design, installations, conversions.
· Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design, and performance tuning.
· Familiarity with database replication tools and concepts.
· Communicate effectively within a team of IT professionals and vendors.
· Work independently on assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
· Provide status of work to Project Team Lead.
· Engage in ongoing process improvement.
· Ability to adhere to DTI processes and procedures, notably Change Control and Incident Management.
· IBM DB2 for z/OS version 8 or 9 Required 3 Years
· IBM DB2 Tools and Utilities (performance tuning, backup and recovery) Required 3 Years
· IBM Mainframe System Programming on z/OS version 1.10 or above Required 3 Years
· Rocket Software Shadow zDirect and zServices, plus Web Services Consumption and Shadow Studio Highly desired 3 Years
· IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture for z/OS v10 Highly desired 3 Years
· Mainframe Support – zSeries hardware, WLM, SMS, TLMS, TCPIP, TN3270, Serena ChangeMan, monitoring, security and job scheduling tools. Desired 3 Years
· BMC Catalog Manager for DB2 Desired 1 Years
· BMC Change Manager for DB2 Desired 1 Years
· Past experience in delivering high quality work product in accordance with specifications and time schedules.

· Prior responsibilities that included prioritize tasks, budget time, and execute effeciently Required
