Job Description:

 

  9-person DBA group providing 24x7 support for 60 Oracle Databases and 128 Sybase servers

• 5 years Oracle DB Production Support

• 3-4 years Sybase DB administration a plus

• Sybase Replication server experience a plus

• Korn/Bourne shell and Perl programming

Skills:db2 VMAX on Windows/VMware environment

There is no direct SKU aligned to a DBA - This is for Sybase/MSSQL skillset.

 

Essential Experience:

 

• Sybase

• MS SQL

• Install and support Sybase servers and databases

• Backup and recovery of all Sybase databases

• Maintain Sybase data replication -- RepServer 12.6 and 15

• Performance and tuning of Sybase servers

• Plan for and perform upgrades to Sybase software

• Plan for Sybase server hardware upgrades

• Monitor Sybase servers

• Monitor nightly Sybase data loading from production to development

• Database consistency checking

• Database capacity/space management

• Assist developers in SQL query tuning

• Quality control for SQL queries

• Provide/maintain tools and utilities for developers and DBA team

 

Secondary Tech Skills:

• Oracle RAC/VCS Experience on ASM and non-ASM Version 9i/10g/11g on Linux/Solaris/Virtual

• Disaster Recovery Understanding and Support RAC/Non-RAC/VCS

• Database Upgrade/Migration process

• Database RMAN configure and restore

• Database Performance Tuning using AWR and Grid

• Database Security Controls

• Development Support

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Team player

• Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
