POSITION

DevOps TechOps Engineer

Atlanta, GA

Long Term Contract

Responsibilities:

Develop, migrate and administration AWS Cloud Technologies

Define Cloud Architecture, guideline and Migration Strategy

Manage Linux/Linux and Windows servers including Amazon server/storage deployments including release process, backup/restore, HA/DR.

Improve the operational monitoring environment

Build or enhance automation processes to improve operational efficiencies.

Develop scripts and tools to supervise system stability and performance and ensure system availability, reliability, and usability.

Perform end-to-end administration of virtual Amazon infrastructure, focusing on Linux based systems.

Solve and take ownership of complex problems and resolve high impacting operational issues.

Work with AWS, Jenkins, Terraform for automated deployment capability, along with Gitlab source code management.

Work across the organization to deliver quality products

Lead groups of tight-knit, intelligent engineers who are building a state-of-the-art, cloud-based environment for massive-scale data processing.

Mentor and help new engineers to achieve more than they thought possible.

Requirements:

Extensive experience as a Linux/Windows system administrator supporting enterprise computing platforms and systems

Architecture design experience

8-15 years experience with AWS technologies, cloud deployment and administration tools.

Ability to take ownership of the customer-facing development responsibilities.

Experience with Python, Golang, Shell, and open source-based systems

Cloud Enablement, Experience in moving from on-prem to cloud desired

Understanding of automation practices throughout the development, build, and deployment phases of the application life-cycle

Automation first approach ; Windows engineering skills, Linux, systems engineering ;

Scripting skills (Python, Powershell, Bash)

Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Terraform, configuration management is helpful

Upgrade Tools to Jenkins, Rundeck, and Octopus

AWS Cloud Platform (EC2, S3 bucket, RDS, Cloud Watch, EBS, ELB, AMI, IAM, Security Groups, VPC, Subnets, Routing Tables, Internet Gateway (IGW)).

- Configuration management tool- preferred Saltstack, Ansible

Experience with build management and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, terraform)

Understanding of revision control (git) and continuous integration best practices.

Experience with agile methodologies (Kanban preferred)

Cloud Enablement, Experience in moving from on-prem to cloud desired

Bachelors Degree or comparable work experience
