Database Administrator

location is Austin, TX

Duration is 10 months+ Contract

 

I. Description of Services

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking one (1) Database Administrator 3 to support its Data/Database Administration initiatives.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise database environments, with a strong focus on DB2 systems.

All work products created under this engagement will be considered “work made for hire” and will remain the property of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

 

The Database Administrator will:

• Administer and support DB2 database environments
• Handle installation, configuration, and performance tuning
• Manage DB2 licensing and compliance (Passport Advantage)
• Work across AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation
• Ensure high availability, security, and data integrity
