ACCOUNT MANAGER NOTES:
HEADLINE: PM w/strong exp. managing data projects; current exp. w/managing an ODS project (strongly preferred); Agile SCRUM methodology; & understanding of Systems Development Lifecycles; who will work in Madison, WI on a contract through Dec 2015.
Our client, a reputable, established company is looking for a Project Manager to join their team in Madison, WI on a long-term contract basis. The contract is scheduled to run through the end of December 2015. As a Project Manager, you will provide project management oversight for the addition of a new data source to a Policy Operational Data Store in support of the implementation of a new policy administration system for two of our client's niches. The project will have significant dependencies with other strategic initiatives. Under general supervision, you will assume primary responsibility for the project management activities on the project. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and maintaining the project plan and schedule, defining the work breakdown structure, identifying a critical path, assigning resources to tasks, and tracking progress against the schedule; Communicating project status and schedule progress to project leadership through weekly meetings; Ensure that the project adheres to the stated scope, schedule, and budget; Identify dependencies with other strategic projects and ensure on time delivery of key deliverables; Follow standard project control procedures for managing risks and issues and ensure mitigation plans are developed for high priority risks; Escalate risks and issues to project leadership and stakeholders when appropriate; and develop and communicate change requests to project leadership and stakeholders for review and approval. The projects will be managed using the Agile SCRUM project management methodology. You will be responsible for working with project leadership and the project team to develop and maintain the project backlog, run sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and daily SCRUM meetings. In addition, you will ensure that sprint goals align with the overall project schedule, as well as escalate and follow up on issues to ensure committed backlog items and tasks are completed within the sprint.
Requirements:
* Strong experience managing data projects.
* Current experience with managing an Operational Data Store ( ODS ) project is strongly preferred.
* Experience with the Agile project management methodology, specifically SCRUM.
* Understanding of Systems Development Lifecycles.
* Ability to handle light travel (1x/month) to corporate office.
* Must have excellent written / verbal communication, leadership and organizational skills.
* Pluses: Insurance / Financial industry experience; PMP certification.
