Preparation and data-sourcing activities are considered for the Data Science Lab 900 project:

 

·         Installation and configuration of analytics toolkits within the Pivotal platform required for completion of the Data Science Lab 1200, possibly including: Chorus, MADlib, PL/R, PL/Python, and other open-source packages.

·         Conversion and migration of a current data model (DDL) into Pivotal.

·         Loading the necessary Customer source data to the Pivotal environment

·         Setting up a basic user/group security model with up to 10 users and 3 groups

·         Optimization and tuning of the converted DDL for analytics performed during the Data Science Lab 900

·         Identification of best practices for re-usable data loading and processing in Customer's environment

·         Optional analysis of future "scope of effort" to operationalize data processing to support a live production analytics environment

 

The following analytic activities are considered in scope for the Data Science Lab 900 project:

 

·         Identification of source data sets to be loaded to Pivotal

·         Data exploration, data joins, and data transformations

·         Feature creation and selection

·         Model design

·         Model development

·         Model validation

·         Optimization and tuning of model code for Customer performance requirements

·         Model scoring within the database against the full data model

·         Model documentation and training
