- Guidewire Developer

• Title: GuildWire Developer
• Position Type: Contract to hire
• Position Length: CTH, min 3 months +
• USC,GC EAD-GC and H4s only.
• Work Location – Glendale AZ

 

 

 

Essential responsibilities

• Hands-on configuration and integrations with Guidewire's InsuranceSuite, including but not limited to PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and EnterpriseEngage (digital).
• Be involved in designing and building capabilities/services in a continuous delivery model on a Guidewire cloud software as a service platform.
• Direct experience with configuration of Standard Based Template (SBT) within Guidewire.
• Partner with leads and architects to help establish a technical vision and deliver innovative capabilities which are consistent, maintainable, and highly scalable for various commerce experiences.
• Work within microservices architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful APIs using Java.
• Work in a distributed/cloud-based environment, including Amazon Web Services & Kubernetes and related technologies.
• Use data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns.
• Define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Use modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
• Practice full DevOps to ensure a culture of testing and releasing software on Amazon Web Services continuously using automation and monitoring.
• Leverage NoSQL using Amazon Web Services to ensure data storage is designed for security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance.
• Deliver software in a Scrum of other agile development process/methodologies.
• Perform technical code reviews and pair programming.
• Partner with other teams to ensure the service ecosystem is loosely coupled and scalable.

• Existing associate or above certifications in Guidewire InsuranceSuite products; with aspirations to achieve professional certification
• AWS Native Services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3

Essential responsibilities

• Primary responsible for providing technical leadership and solutions to system development projects involving multiple applications.
• Designing and prototyping cloud deployed and DevOps enabled scalable solutions in alignment with architecture direction and standards.
• Collaborating with CTO, partners and peers regarding short and long-term technical strategies, roadmaps and product recommendations.
• Working constructively with requirements engineers, software developers, Project Leaders, and other software architects in defining the technical architecture.
• Analyzing the requirements of a project and determining how to apply architecture best practices.

What would make us excited about you

• Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology with a heavy concentration in application architecture, integration design, or systems engineering in the most recent three years
• 5+ years of Technical experience in current level for design, execution and deployments
• Experience in Guidewire Cloud, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, Integration and EnterpriseEngage (Digital)
• Experience in Cloud architectures and full-stack web development including mobile development.
• Experience in defining and implementing Distributed Enterprise Component Based Architecture and frameworks to support abstraction
• Proven experience with leading tools and techniques across multiple areas of technology, applicable to a multi-platform environment
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex organization to determine enterprise-wide information systems needs and to build the environment to facilitate the development of systems to meet those needs
• Sound knowledge of, commercial software packages, tools, including the entire technology stack, and the ability to utilize many when architecting solutions
• Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds
• Preferred: Cloud solution architecture and development experience, as well as Guidewire ACE certified candidate in PolicyCenter or EnterpriseEngage (Digital Portals)
