Position: Sr. Java/J2EE Consultant
Exact location: Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: 1 year +
Interview: Initial phone screen, second interview is F2F (if non-local, skype)
Brief Description:
This consultant will serve as a member of Business Intelligence's Architecture Team, and should have understanding of the current technical architectures including constraints related to platforms and standards in order to establish the role as a key solutions expert.
The consultant should have application integration experience in the following areas:
• Manufacturing functional domain
• Application integration
• Web and application security
• Performance
• Quality
• Operational aspects
The consultant is needed to:
• Help define the technical reference architecture, ensuring that it meets the business requirements, cost constraints and performance goals of the application
• Ensure that the technical architecture is consistent with the client's long-term direction
• Be involved in the application and technical architecture analysis, design, and implementation to ensure that the product fulfills the requirements
• Work with the integration solution architects to deliver high level and detailed architecture design and documentation
• Identify the technical environment required to support the application architecture reviews
• Define application programming guidelines and standards
• Collaborate with other architects to ensure that the products and components work together to meet the objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements
• Troubleshoot, debug and solve technology integration and performance problems
Candidate Qualifications
College Degree: Bachelor's
Years of Work Experience: Minimum 8+ years overall IT experience
•Three or more years working in the areas of system architecture, component design, implementation and deployment processes
Personal Skills Required:
•Excellent communication ability
•Ability to independently research and solve complex technical issues
•Ability to meet targeted deadlines with minimal supervision
•Ability to follow and support standards for design, development, implementation and documentation.
•Team player
•Ability and communicate effectively with clients, with team members and with management to work on functional and technical requirements
•Ability to provide effective mentoring to team members and other technical staff when required
Technical Skills Required:
•Sound knowledge in J2EE, Web Services development, and SOA
•Hands-on experience with IBM MQ Series and WebSphere Suite (App Server, Portals, Integration, etc.)
•Sound knowledge of JSP, Spring, Hibernate, Servlets, JDBC, JNDI, Tiles, JAXB, JDOM, ESB, BPEL, AJAX, and XML
•Experience implementing at least one SOA-related project successfully
•Experience implementing the automated deployment of the applications from the source
•Ability to perform analysis and design software systems using industry standard modeling tools
•Proficient in the use of software development tools and techniques in software projects
•Working knowledge of mobile web technologies (HTML5, CSS3)
Additional Skills/Qualities not required but would be a plus:
•Evidence of prior leadership position in implementation of a corporate level and successful SOA architecture
•Cross-platform design and development experience
•Experience with Architecture Review process, design of large systems, creation of technical requirements documents and major decision documents would be a plus.
