Our client, the largest health care insurer in the Mid-Atlantic region, located within the greater Baltimore and Washington D.C. area, is looking for a Business Analyst.
Responsibilities Include:
· Leads the requirements gathering and future state process preparation for an operational subgroup (Customer Service, Billing) team of 3-4. Teams made up of some combination of BA's, FA's, SMEs, etc.
· Serves as a liaison between the internal business community and various project teams in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
· Gathers information about the organization's work processes and information flows.
· Gathers and documents both existing and new flows in order to evaluate and define new business solutions and implementation processes; also identifies where new SOPs, training are necessary and acts as a key resource and liaison with Training dept.
· Supports several simple to moderately complex business processes.
· Working with the project management and IT Technical team documents business requirements and translates them into functional specifications for the IT organization, manages changes to such specifications, and educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.
Required Skills:
· Possesses an understanding of healthcare industry related technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business groups supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
· Has basic knowledge in functions they support (Customer Service, Billing, etc.).
· Has knowledge and background of related technologies and tools.
· Has basic understanding of business, market and industry issues facing a specific business unit or function.
· Must be able to quickly learn and effectively communicate business processes to members of team and organization.
· Healthcare, Insurance, Mandates experience preferred
· Excellent communication and leadership skills: needs to be able to liaise well between business SMEs (subject matter experts), Business Analysts, Functional analysts, technical and project teams and training area.
· Strong critical thinking skills
· Ability to work well with different personalities and work styles and in a relatively independent fashion.
Top 3 Skills:
