MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must have at least 8 years’ experience in Quality Assurance during the testing phase of SDLC, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a performance tester.

 

 

Software Performance Engineer should have a very good understanding of software development and the software testing lifecycle, as well as experience in applying software testing techniques, processes, and tools.

 

 

Hands-on experience in developing testing artifacts (performance test scripts, scenarios, monitors etc…)

 

 

Experience in conducting performance tuning in different categories: network, system, platform and application

 

 

Experience in diagnosing complex performance issues based on analysis of performance tests execution results (Load, Stress, Scalability) and in developing recommended solutions

 

 

Ability to prepare and run performance benchmark tests

 

 

Build Capacity Planning/Sizing models

 

 

Should have diverse experience and interests.

 

 

Should have experience with web based application software

 

 

Should be able to see the big picture/system understanding with capability/potential to dive into low level details to support problem isolation

 

 

Good understanding of operating systems, especially memory management, processing and file system structure.

 

 

Proven development capabilities in one of the following languages: Java, C++, C.

 

 

Experience with working with databases: familiarity with the different database entities, familiarity with SQL, DML. Hands on experience with Oracle and MS SQL.

 

 

High level understanding of Java/.Net internals (memory heap allocation, garbage collection, caching, connection pooling, etc…)

 

 

Good understanding of networking concepts, server-agent communication

 

 

Good knowledge and understanding of software testing procedures, practices and tools

 

 

Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project;

 

 

Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.

 

 

Must be able to provide documentation on their work

 

 

Must be able to work with HP Load Runner

 

 

Must be able to work with TOAD and/or other SQL editing/design tools

 

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources;

 

 

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

A Masters degree in Computer Science, or Mathematics is desired

 

 

Experience working in an Agile development environment.

 

 

Knowledge of web services, SOAP UI load script creation

 

 

Experienced with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies; Working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards

 

 

Experience with any cloud testing tools like Keynote, Load Impact etc is desired

 

 

QA certification is desired
