The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Georgia Gateway (OGG), is seeking a qualified candidate for the temporary contractor staffing position of Senior Java Developer in the Office of Georgia Gateway based in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Complete Description:

 

The Office of Georgia Gateway (OGG) is the administrative office within DHS that oversees vendor design, development, joint testing and enhancement implementation to Georgia's Integrated Eligibility System (IES) also known as Georgia Gateway. The OGG oversees the maintenance and operation activities associated with

ongoing support.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Under broad supervision, designs, codes, tests, modifies and debugs computer software. Researches and analyzes program or systems problems and develops program documentation. Translates business requirements into development activities in secure and maintainable code.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

•             Analyzes operations to determine business requirements and needs.

•             Debugs, adapts, and modifies code and logic of existing applications.

•             Researches and develops specifications for systems design.

•             Researches and analyzes program or systems problems and develops program documentation.

•             Translates business requirements into development activities in secure and maintainable code.

 

Entry Qualifications:

 

•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science or management information systems AND Six years of related experience.

•Experience in working as a track lead to design and develop application modules.

•Experience in Design and development of Web Applications involving J2EE technologies with Java, Collections, JNDI, Servlets, JSP, EJB, JMS, Web Services (REST and SOAP), Spring Framework (Web, MVC, AOP, ORM, Security and DAO), Spring Boot, Hibernate and JPA

•Experience with multiple Authentication mechanisms and schemes

•Experience with build tools including Maven.

Experience with multiple persistence mechanisms (SQL, NoSQL)

•Experience with SOAP and RESTful API development and consumption.

•Experience developing frameworks for reuse across enterprise applications.

•Strong debugging, problem-solving and investigative skills.

•Ability to assimilate disparate information (log files, error messages, etc.) and pursue leads to find root cause problems.

•Ability to work independently and own the process of software delivery.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

•Experience integrating java applications with cloud services.

•Experience with cloud providers such as AWS.

•Experience in design and development of frameworks for Single Page Applications using Node.js, Express.js, jQuery, Angular JS, Angular 2/4/5/7/8 using Angular CLI, Bootstrap, JWT and MongoDB.

•Experience in design and development of Web Based Internet /Intranet, Multi-tier distributed, and Single Page applications using latest J2EE, MEAN Stack, Web, Mobile, cloud technologies and Container orchestration.

•Build Automation using Jenkins or similar tooling.

•Experience with Integrated Eligibility System to design, develop and deliver health and human services benefits programs such as Medicaid Medical Assistance, Department of Family & Children Services (DFCS), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Georgia Food Stamp Program (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL), Medical Assistance and PeachCare for Kids etc.
