Complete Description:

 

SQL Server Architect role would work directly with the CSS Replatforming Team and focus on SQL server performance for both online and batch queries within the newly migrated CSS SQL server databases.

 

Work with teams to:

 

Build framework to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data

Build standard common business vocabulary

Express business vocabulary, strategic requirements

Outline high-level integrated designs to meet requirements

Align with enterprise strategy and related business architecture

Ensure data security throughout

Ensure performance optimization - establishing table structures, indexing, etc., ensuring database/application speed requirements

Focus on SQL Server performance

Collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams, departments, stakeholders

 

Required/Desired Skills:      

 

Applied mathematics and statistics

Data visualization, migration, modeling, design, visualization

DBMS, SQL Server

Database, cloud computing design, architecture, data lakes

Hadoop technologies, Pig, Hive, MapReduce

Information management, data processing on multiple platforms

Agile methodologies, enterprise resource planning implementation

Data mining and modeling tools

Machine learning, predictive modeling and natural language processing

Design and visualization tools

Programming - SQL, Python, Java, C/C#/C++, UML

OS - Unix, Linux, Solaris, Windows

Application server software, backup and archival software

SDLC

Data management and reporting technologies, predictive analysis, data visualization and unstructured data

Extensive knowledge of big data industry

Strong attention to detail in evaluating data for accuracy and errors

Ability to problem-solve under pressure in complex situations

Methodical and logical approach to planning and organization

Excellent communication skills, time management skills and goal-oriented personality

Strong understanding of data protection and data governance

Thorough understanding of database systems and software

Willingness to work long hours, beyond what would be considered 'standard'

Ability to work productively in an office environment, and with multiple teams

Extensive creative and analytical problem solving
