This is a Hybrid contract opportunity in Hoffman Estates, IL. Qualified candidates must be able to work on-site 2 or 3 days per week.

 

Job Title: Sr Systems Engineer

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL - Hybrid

Duration: 6-12 Months

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be managing various systems and environments including Windows, Active Directory, virtual and on-prem environments and storage systems.

 

• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
• Perform root cause analysis related to service disruptions and implement changes to remediate the problems.
• Perform regularly scheduled after hours maintenance and system patching cycles Windows Servers.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or similar area of study or 7 years of specific Systems Engineering experience
• Windows Server Management
• Hyperconverged Infrastructures
• VMware 5 - 6.7
• Veeam Backup
• MS Azure On-Premise and Cloud
• Active Directory, Azure AD and Single Sign-On (SSO)
• PowerShell Scripting with ability to Create Functions

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong experience and expertise with VMware 5.0 ? 6.7 and Veeam backup environments.
• Strong hands-on experience working with hyperconverged technologies such as Dell, Client HPE SimpliVity.
• Advanced expertise and experience with Microsoft technology stack including Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, SSL, TLS, SSO, Certificates, PowerShell scripting and automation of Windows servers.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with on-premise servers, storage, and Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, IaaS, PaaS, M365, O365 and others.
• Experience with Azure Cloud resources, Azure Active Directory, Single Sign On.
• Experience or knowledge of software deployment platforms including Desktop Central or Microsoft SCCM, IT asset and patch management tools.
• Experience or knowledge of AS400 is a plus.
