Job Title: SRE Automation Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid Model 3days onsite a week)

Position Type: Long Term Contract

 

Job Description:

Note: this role is a combination of Operation, Development and Infra side

 

Develop and run SRE own tooling and observability using automation like CI CD and Kubernetes 

These roles will be dealing with Operations, App Dev Teams and Infra teams.
The idea is not to be doing production support, but more around understanding challenges during production outages and coming up with process improvements or system improvements from SRE perspective.
Unless the person experiences the on-call, he will not be able to identify gaps in the infrastructure or application architecture or operation processes.
Having good knowledge on Python or Ansible or any other automation scripting is must.
Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions and then into automation 
Plan the growth and reliability of the services 
Be on an on-call rotation to respond to code red incidents to help restore customer-impacting service
