Location: Plano, TX

Visa: No OPT/CPT

 

Job Summary:

A PostgreSQL Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining PostgreSQL database solutions to meet the organization's data management needs. They work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop efficient and scalable database architectures, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity and security.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable PostgreSQL database structures to support the organization's applications and systems.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval, storage, and processing.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models based on business requirements, ensuring optimal data organization and relationships.
• Monitor and maintain database health, performance, and security, including regular backups, updates, and patches.
• Implement and manage security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
• Perform data migration tasks, extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes as needed to ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand database requirements and effectively integrate database solutions into applications.
• Create and maintain thorough documentation of database designs, configurations, and processes. Generate reports and analysis to communicate database performance and trends.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues, provide technical support, and work to resolve any performance or functionality problems.
• Stay updated on PostgreSQL updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies to propose and implement enhancements that improve database performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Developer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database design, implementation, and administration.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and other relevant database languages.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with data modeling tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Professional) are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
• Knowledge of database automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
