JOB DESCRIPTION:           

 

We are seeking an experienced AWS API Technical Lead to lead the design, development, deployment, and governance of cloud-native APIs and microservices on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS services, API management, integration patterns, security standards, and modern software engineering practices. This role involves leading technical teams, defining architecture standards, collaborating with business stakeholders, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing API solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

- Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-grade APIs and microservices on AWS.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
- Establish API development standards, best practices, and governance models.
- Drive architectural decisions aligned with business and technology strategies.
- Conduct code reviews and architecture reviews to ensure quality and compliance.

API Development & Integration

- Design and implement RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and event-driven integrations.
- Develop reusable API frameworks and shared service components.
- Integrate applications using AWS services and third-party platforms.
- Manage API lifecycle including design, versioning, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
- Ensure API scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.

AWS Cloud Architecture

- Design cloud-native solutions utilizing:
   - AWS API Gateway
   - AWS Lambda
   - ECS/EKS
   - SNS/SQS
   - EventBridge
   - DynamoDB
   - RDS
   - CloudFront
   - Route 53
   - IAM
   - CloudWatch
   - AWS Secrets Manager
- Implement serverless and containerized architectures.
- Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

Security & Compliance

- Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security best practices.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security policies and compliance requirements.
- Conduct threat modeling and security reviews.
- Manage authentication, authorization, encryption, and API gateway policies.

DevOps & Automation

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using:
   - AWS CodePipeline
   - Jenkins
   - GitHub Actions
   - GitLab CI/CD
- Automate infrastructure deployment using:
   - Terraform
   - AWS CloudFormation
   - AWS CDK
- Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with product owners, architects, developers, and business teams.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud experience.
- 3+ years in API architecture and technical leadership roles.
- Strong experience with Java, Python, Node.js, or .NET.
- Expertise in REST APIs, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
- Deep knowledge of AWS API Gateway and serverless architectures.
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and IAM.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate.
- Experience with MuleSoft, Kong, Apigee, or similar API management platforms.
- Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
- Experience with large-scale cloud transformation programs.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
