Location: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Duration:6 month contract.

Here is the job description:

MySQL DBA- North Palm Beach, FL 33408

Should have experience with supporting a production environment. This is mostly administration, but also involves problem solving as well. Backups, replication, updates, new installations, load balancing, etc. This is a LAMP environment. The main purpose is to support Wordpress installations on our live sites.

Responsibilities

• Configure monitoring and alerts for MySQL instances; develop related reports

• Monitor MySQL instances; define/recommend/implement proactive changes based on monitoring data

• Identify query tuning issues, analyze and recommend solutions

• Architect and implement database backup/recovery, high availability, multi-data center synchronization

• Develop database capacity requirements

• Work with developers and other staff to develop and reactor high-performance database designs and instance configurations

• Document database design and instance configuration

• Script and support automated data movement, data refresh, performance/issue reporting, etc.

• Evaluate database/data store products on capabilities and suitability for use

• Large-scale data movement and validation

• Optimize queries and suggest improvements to schema

• Handle requests for data

• Write and/or modify simple SQL scripts including stored procedures / views
