Position: UNIX admin

Locations:  Groton, CT

Duration: 15 months Contract

 

Job Description:

·         Strong UNIX System admin experience (10 + years) in pharmaceutical industry to support clinical trial operations including monitoring and maintenance of cron jobs, large file systems and various UNIX processes.

·         Strong UNIX Scripting skills required (5-7 years)

·         Experience with installing and upgrading SAS version and troubleshooting SAS Code.

·         Experience with Apache, Perl, JavaScript and RCS.

·         Good knowledge on optimizing the Solaris 9/10 server configurations.

·         Experience with large, global health science applications will be considered

·         Trend and impact analysis to recommend remediation/improvements based on their implications on IT maintenance and business use

·         Good knowledge about application performance monitoring and tuning using standard tools such as SAR, HP Open View etc.

 

Soft skills:

 

·         Superb analytical skills in developing thought process, fact/data seeking, hands-on research, attention to details and making knowledgeable decisions in the normal as well as urgent/critical situations.

·         Dedicated and committed with a track record of business deliveries.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in articulating technical content to both technical and non technical audience.

·         Independent and self driven with little supervision and guidance in assuming the responsibilities.

·         Excellent customer service skills with on-call availability
