Summary:
This client’s AGENCY manages an enterprise computing system based on an ORACLE RDBMS to manage the child welfare activities and services across the enterprise, provider partners and other government entities. The system consists of two presentation mechanisms. A client/server application and a J2EE web application. Both systems interact with the same backend database.
The AGENCY is seeking experienced Java Developers to:
Develop enhancements for and provide support to J2EE application
Develop new business functions, including web services, using the principles, practices, and deliverables of the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Troubleshoot, fix, and test issues/defects - resulting from either the change control process or production activities
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent core J2SE programming ability
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience and Strong knowledge of the following tools/ technologies & frameworks: Eclipse, Java Server Faces, Facelets, Spring, Apache Trinidad
Application/Portal server: Weblogic 10.x
RDBMS: Oracle 10g
Good knowledge of J2EE design patterns and Web services
Knowledge of Java community tools/frameworks/app. Servers preferred but not a requirement: Subversion, DBUnit, Junit, JBOSS
EXPERIENCE:
Six to eight years of system development experience in Java technologies
Experience with Web service development will be a plus
EDUCATION:
At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree with a major in the field of Computer Science or Information Science
