Guidewire Consultant

Texas (Remote)

 

We are looking for an Application Developer who will design and code functional programs and applications, producing fully functional Guidewire software customizations according to requirements - specifically expertise with ClaimCenter. You will work as part of a team and individually with little supervision. You should possess excellent knowledge of the Guidewire platform. We also expect you to have an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.

 

Application Developer responsibilities are:

• Efficiently translate client requirements into application features
• Prepare creative prototypes according to specifications
• Work together with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for application customizations
• Create high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
• Organize unit and integration testing before launch
• Organize functional and non-functional testing and perform troubleshooting and debugging
• Review existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
• Prepare technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

Application Developer requirements are:

• 5+ years in Guidewire
• Strong Guidewire Insurance Suite experience, specifically expertise with ClaimCenter.
• Extensive knowledge and demonstrated ability with GOSU (or Java) programming
• Ability to assess, architect, and design new ClaimCenter integrations
• Proven experience with the design, development, modification, and deployment of software using Agile methodology, source version control, and release management tools.
• Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms less technical people can understand.
• Previous experience with ClaimCenter version upgrades, automated testing concepts and tools (GUnit, Selenium, etc.),
• Guidewire certifications are considered a plus
• Strong communication, teamwork and time-management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail

Job Title: UAT Analyst

Location: Austin, TX

 

The User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Analyst is an Information Technology (IT) position and will provide business analysis and testing skills for the release of enhancements to the Childcare Licensing Automated Support System (CLASS). Project scope includes supporting accuracy and functionality of system development across the organization by coordinating UAT and post-production validation of development projects and releases. The UAT Analyst will plan, monitor, and control testing activities and tasks.

This position will also be responsible for facilitating regression testing and may assist business users with testing customizations. Works closely with Operations, Application Development, and IT QA to ensure development and testing efforts are completed and meet all outlined requirements in the implemented solution.

The UAT Analyst will also work with the project team to ensure the test environment is put into place before test execution, and managed during test execution. This position will schedule tests for execution, then monitor, measure, control, and report on the test progress, the product quality status, and the test results. They will also coordinate issues resolution and make recommendations for quality assurance process improvements.

The project is expected to produce several deployments within fiscal years 2022 through 2023.

6	Required	Host UAT planning sessions, develop end-to-end test plan, test approach, and obtain test plan signoff from stakeholders.
6	Required	Manage test execution, provide metrics reporting of testing progress, manage review sessions with relevant stakeholders, and support issue resolution for closure.
6	Required	Prepare go/no-go release materials to obtain a decision for the release and participate in the go/no-go calls, prepare exit report as well as lessons learned and communicate with the respective teams for improvements.
4	Preferred	Experience as a QA/UAT Lead in the information technology field.
4	Preferred	Relevant experience managing distributed test teams and dealing with senior business stakeholders.
4	Preferred	Hands-on experience in all aspects of QA testing in a large-scale shared data and technology environment with multiple stakeholders.
4	Preferred	Hands-on experience with one/more of the following or similar tools: Application Lifecycle management (ALM); data platforms - Oracle, SQL Server; regulatory reporting tools.
4	Preferred	Skilled in the use of Jira for tracking agile projects.
4	Preferred	Skilled in using online test management tools (i.e., Zephyr, Test Rail or similar testing tools).

Job Title: Business Analyst

These positions will work on the Web-based Salesforce application LoPro to build the Local Funds Tracking functionality. This position will perform the duties of a Business Analyst that include requirement gathering, analysis of requirements to develop requirements and design for required system modifications, complete business requirement documents and user stories. Will also work with technical teams to coordinate demos, UAT, code releases, and user communication as necessary. Must have experience working in an Agile environment. Some on-call support may be required depending on project phase.
