Python - NoSQL Developer
Ann Arbonr,MI or Detroit,MI
WFH until covid.
Position Description:
- This role is for an experienced Python Developer who will build and maintain large scale application systems using multi-node NoSQL DB clusters (like Cassandra / MongoDB).
- Analyze performance problems with existing Python application with Relational DB and provide solutions to improve performance. Offer workarounds, operational expertise on core database technologies and root-cause analysis support
- Plan and migrate into a multi-node distributed NoSQL DB (like Cassandra / MongoDB)
- Assist the team to design, implement and offer on-going support belonging to NoSQL DB (Cassandra / MongoDB) services in cloud installations and on-premise model.
- The Python - NoSQL developer will work in small, cross-functional teams. They will collaborate directly and continuously with product managers, designers, and product owners to release early and often.
- Work with data scientists and software engineers to support data acquisition activities, data solution ideation, and implementation
- Share support responsibilities for implemented components
Degree Type:
- Computer Science or Equivalent
Technical Skills Required
- Minimum of 7+ years' of overall experience working with application systems and databases
- Minimum 3 years' of experience as a Python Developer
- Expertise in at least one popular Python framework (like Django, Flask or Pyramid)
- Expertise in writing effective and scalable code
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (like JavaScript and HTML5)
- Have deep understanding of any one relational database like PostGres, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Relational Databases – Defining relationships, objects, writing Queries, optimizing queries and performance tuning
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in working with NoSQL Databases like MongoDB, Cassandra.
- Experience in troubleshooting performance issues
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Nice to Have
- Previous experience managing Software-as-a-Service technology products and managed services
- Knowledge of database migration software and technologies.
- Ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements
- Ability to illustrate and convey ideas and prototypes effectively with team and partners presence demonstrating confidence, ability to learn quickly, influence, and shape ideas
- Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
- Experience with a global team
