Sr. Network Engineer 

Duration:6-12 month

Location Rochester, NY

 

 

Relevant experience in planning, design, implementation/engineering role on supporting large enterprise network infrastructure

 

Should have a high degree of competency in technical areas: Networking Protocols/Services BGP, OSPF, IPSec, GRE, HSRP/VRRP, NAT/PAT, SNMP, MPLS, VPLS, QoS, Multicast, STP, 10GigE, GigE, 10/100 Ethernet, T1, DS3, SONET, GTM, LTM, DNS, Application Firewalls etc.

 

Senior level experience managing and trouble-shooting complex network infrastructure in LAN/WAN environment with expertise in Routers, Switches, wireless, Firewalls from Cisco Checkpoint, etc,.

 

Daily maintenance and problem resolution including monitoring system performance, performance tuning, operating system patches and software upgrades

 

Perform troubleshooting analysis and document network problems and resolution for future reference

 

Adequate project management skills and ability to manage time and complex tasks

 

Good understanding of the MPLS technology and applications such as L3 VPN, L2 VPN and VPLS

 

Must have documentation skills and be proficient with MS Visio

 

Familiar with the ITIL service model

 

PMP/PMI certification is a plus

 

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

 

Excellent customer service and communication skills

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

- 8+ years experience on network implementations and support.

 

Certifications:

 

- CCNP preferred.
