Long term contract, renewed every 6 months           Pay rate to: $40/hr on C2C

3 Network Engineers on the team, 9am – 6pm shift, but have flex hours. Need ability to be flexible since they support teams in India and England, may have occasional weekend work (maybe once per quarter). No ticketing system, no pager, no late night calls since it's not a production environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

We are looking for a highly motivated, senior technical consultant who will support a datacenter (Global testing lab) for our team.  (300 Blade servers, SAN, Nexus 7k and GSR routers, Cat 6k switches, etc.)

The individual will need to diligently monitor the datacenter; troubleshoot issues as they arise - possibly even off-hours, provide installation and configuration of new hardware.

Engineer performs technical network installation, configuration operating and providing support thorough documentation of changes/additions to the datacenter; and be able to investigate and implement best practices.

The consultant will collaborate with a global team of highly skilled VOIP engineers working in a test environment. 

Use MDS switch to connect Blades to the SAN

Willingness to rack new equipment and run cables in a lab environment

Evaluate Memory usage, take proactive corrective measures


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required Skills

1.       In-depth working knowledge of Cisco routing/switching protocols (VRF, OSPF, MPLS, BGP)

2.       Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of large-scale routers and switches (Nexus 7k and GSR routers, Cat6k switches)

3.       Working knowledge of Datacenter Virtualization technologies – VMWare, UCS, SAN

 

Strongly Preferred Skills

1.       Working knowledge of Cisco VOIP products including Voice Gateways, CUCM, Unity Connection

2.       Working knowledge of VOIP protocols including SIP, SCCP, MGCP, H323

3.       Experience using an MDS switch to connect Blades to the SAN

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Four or more years of network engineering experience working with large-scale Cisco routers and switches

CCNA or CCNP strongly preferred
