We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to work closely with our clients QA team for implementation of automation script creation and testing with focus on testing patch management and security updates before deployment. This person should have knowledge of all Software Development Lifecycle phases including design, development, test and post-production releases. This is a two month contract.
The ideal candidate must understand overall testing methods including User Interface, Functional, Integration, Regression, Load, Web and Middle tier testing and creation of test cases. They should be able to document and discuss test execution results and create defect-tracking records for discovered problems along with enforcing QA policies, standards, and methodologies.
Expected Responsibilities:
In depth knowledge of Selenium automation script development
Self motivating, self directed, team oriented work ethic, energetic, and personable
Strong technical background in Oracle, SQL, web applications, XML, HTML, LDAP, Java, multi-browser, automation scripting preferably Selenium IDE and load testing
Strong written and verbal communications skills
In-depth understanding of software testing principles and techniques, verification and validation techniques, defect management, quantitative methods, and measurement programs
Ability to assess client needs and form testing strategies
Preparation and execution of test cases and test plans
Ability to perform User Interface, Functional, Integration, Regression, Load, Web and Middle tier testing
Perform testing, log defects and track issues preferably with Bugzilla or TFS
Work with application developers to resolve the issues
Must have agile/scrum methodology experience
Strong technical hardware experience to include mobility and tablets
Proficient with running SQL queries using tools like Microsoft Query, Toad or command-line editors
Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
Must demonstrate effective time-management skills and comply with project deadlines
Ability to multi-task to accomplish workload efficiently
Must have skills:
4+ years of testing experience in manual and/or automation testing
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; Certified testing designation is desired
Automation scripting preferably Selenium IDE and load testing
Must be a good team player
Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, creative thinking and problem solving ability; Detailed oriented
Flexible, organized and able to handle competing priorities
Sound, logic based decision making
Quick learner
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally as part of a team as well as an independently
Work proactively and reactively
