SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the test environments used to support Regional, Enterprise and/or other special project releases. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works directly with customers to define environment requirements and leads the environment set-up and maintenance. Monitors system performance and capacity for all test environments and troubleshoots environmental issues. Sets up and executes jobs to extract and manipulate test data, executes database changes and works with the database to ensure data related needed are handled efficiently. Leads test environment design or request meetings. Manages and executes the build, installation scripts and deployment scripts. Manages and maintains migrations between each tool promotion levels and the associated testing or production environment. Performs code migrations and may prepare, merge, and version code for production builds. Compiles release notes to summarize contents of each migration and creates scripts to migrate code. Works with the Release team to transition from development to production. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent in education and multi-platform experience is preferred.  Previous 4+ years of programming/application development or equivalent experience is required.  Incumbent will be on-call, as needed, to ensure development environment availability meets all service level agreements. SKILLS: Strong communication skills, Strong computer proficiency.

Required Experience

5-8 years of practical experience implementing a configuration management and software release process

Experience automating deployments/installs to multiple servers in parallel

Experience managing and maintaining source management, merges, branches, builds, and product release process.

Practical experience with client server and internet technologies source code configuration

Participate in internal testing to identify problems early, perform error and stress scenarios.

 

Microsoft – Team Foundational Services Or Comparable Tools

3-5 years hands-on experience as a configuration Engineer

Understanding and hands on experience with Team Foundational Services

Experience in build template customizations, knowledge of how TFS build works, and workflow foundations.

Biztalk – Knowledge preferred

 

2-3 years’ experience with other Configuration management tools.

 

Must be willing to be available outside of normal working hours for CM activities.
