[xrecnet] Urgent need of a Oracle PL/SQL developer_IL_phone+inperson interview

Oracle PL/SQL Developer

6+ month contract (40 hours/wk)

Chicago IL.

Phone then in-person

Essential Functions:

  • Database development in using Oracle Developer Tools, PL/SQL and related software tools. Work activities include DB objects development, data validation and analyzing existing processes and procedures.
  • Optimization and Tuning of existing PL/SQL stored procedures and packages. Optimization of physical data model.
  • Participate as a team member on defined standards and working practices, identify and improve existing functions, prepare technical documentation. 
  • Monitors and tracks quality related issues and problems through to resolution.
  • Support development staff.
  • Create and update technical documentation, and able to provide end to end solutions.
  • Work closely with Java development team and Business Analyst to understand business perspective, functional and technical requirements.

Technical skills (Must):

  • 5-10 years hands-on experience On Oracle (11g, 10g, 9i) databases applications development using Oracle Packages, Stored Procedure, and Functions on Sun Unix or Linux
  • 5-8 years of PL/SQL development experience
  • 5-8 years hands-on Experience on large database development on Oracle Database, other RDBMS including MS SQL Server and DB2 experience with tuning and optimizing performance on backend process, complex SQL, PL/SQL packages and Analytic SQL; Strong knowledge on Oracle Database administration issues (i,e schema, user, security).
  • Strong Experience with the Oracle Optimizer, plans and hints. Strong experience with optimizing physical data models (table definition, indexes, range and hash partitioning)
  • Experience with ETL involving large amount of data, in particular XML parsing and loading into Oracle, Oracle XML packages.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined, professional, and a team player to multiple tasks at one time, in a fast paced environment handling multiple demands
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to present and explain technical information

Technical skills (Plus):

  • Hands on experience with Java server side development

Other Skills, and Experties:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Ability to work independently with minimum guidance in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to take initiatives and solve problems.
  • Ability to understand business requirements, provide an accurate estimate and deliver quality work within estimates
  • Ability to liaise and work with different IT and business teams.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and industry practices.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment is beneficial.
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills interfacing various onsite and offsite teams.
  • Financial industry knowledge is required.
  • Experience of Regulatory change project is beneficial.
  • Anticipate/forecast critical points and make adjustments to deliver to commitments.
  • Effective documentation capabilities.
  • Assimilate facts, evaluate perception and apply critical reasoning and make recommendations to arrive at optimal outcome.
  • Intermediary process flow and business analysis capabilities.
  • Required: French Translation; Preferable: Speaking capability as well.
