Description of Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the DBA will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provide database administration expertise in the Oracle 11g and 12c environments;
• Assist with design, support and maintenance of 100+ Oracle Database Management systems;
• Maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of several databases;
• Resolve Oracle database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues; and
• Install and implement ASM and Transparent Data Encryption.
Minimum Qualifications
Over seven (7+) years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, including production support, installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, migration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and cloning. Over three (3+) years of experience must be on Oracle 11G or above. This experience must include:
• Experience in installation, configuration and administration of Oracle 11g or above RAC in UNIX operating system environment;
• Experience in installation, configuration and administration of Oracle 11g or above Data Guard configuration, implementation and maintenance of Standby Databases;
• Proficient skills managing Automatic Storage Manager (ASM);
• Experience in installation, configuration and maintenance (upgrades and patching) of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM12c)
• Experience administering Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to perform daily tasks of monitoring, performance tuning and maintenance of the enterprise databases;
• Experience in installation, configuration of Transparent Data Encryption (TDE);
• Expertise in developing Oracle Backup and Recovery strategy and scripts using RMAN;
• Experience analyzing job performance and tuning SQLs;
• Experience performing database tuning utilizing SQL Tuning advisor, AWR statistics, OEM, explain plan;
• Experience writing Unix Kornshell scripts to automate database operation;
• Experience with implementation of Oracle partitioning;
• Experience with Oracle Automatic Memory Management (AMM);
• Ability to develop technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer as needed by OSC management;
• Ability to act as a resource to answer technical questions and/or provide guidance to OSC staff as it relates to Oracle database administration best practices; and
• Experience working with Oracle Support to report and resolve issues/bugs.
