Location: Portland, OR

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced On- Premise DevOps Engineer who is comfortable with automating and maintaining cloud infrastructures as it relates to D365 F&O. Our mission is to architect redundant, resilient, scalable, self-sustaining, and self-healing infrastructure. We utilize a variety of tools for infrastructure scaling and automation with the close supervision of our DevOps specialists and their organizational discipline. The ideal candidate will have superb troubleshooting skills, passion for automating everything, and a sense of ownership. 3-7 years experience. 

Qualifications:

Azure DevOps (required)

• Knowledge of CI/CD, Unit/UI Testing

• Mastering CI\CD concepts and hands on implementations experiences, specifically GIT

• Configuration Management experience such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar

• AZ-400 certification

Dynamics 365 (good to have)

• Dynamics 365 Development - Configuration, Plug-in, Workflows, JavaScript, C#, HTML

• .NET areas / Web Applications, REST API

• SSIS and related data migration techniques and strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Design a DevOps strategy
• Implement DevOps development processes
• Implement continuous integration (CI)
• Implement continuous delivery (CD)
• Implement dependency management
• Implement application infrastructure
• Implement continuous feedback

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

• Support the build framework and tools for CI, CD, Proactive Monitoring & Alerting & Operations Excellence ensuring availability & reliability

• Work closely with engineers in supporting new application features and service launches

• Design, build and use various tools to manage scaling and monitoring of highly scalable eCommerce application 

• Evaluate system utilization, monitor response time, and provide primary support for detection and correction of operational problems

• Support Runtime Cloud Migrations (Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes)

• Troubleshoot network and systems performance issues and create and maintain operational SLA for our internal and external customers 

• On-call during support rotation. Respond to alerts in a timely manner 

• Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years of DevOps experience 

• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud architecture

• Knowledge of and experience in creating and managing containers in Azure cloud (Docker or Kubernetes)

• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration

• Understand the nuances of supporting high performance, scalable and accessible web application

• Proven experience working with Docker, Jenkins or similar technologies, GIT and build CI/CD pipeline 

• Proven experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment

• Experience with automation/configuration management such as Puppet, Chef or an equivalent

• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (Azure preferred)

• Ability to read and understand Java code

• Ability to write simple automations using shell scripting 

• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

• Working knowledge of basic networking concepts such as http, load balancers, proxies, firewalls

• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Self-starter with strong initiative and focus on quality deliverables 

• Business-minded approach to time, costs, and deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment

• Hands-on experience with enterprise system monitoring and alerting such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana

• Strong understanding of code quality tools and metrics

 

BONUS POINTS 

• Familiarity with micro-service architectures, SOAP and RESTful web services and asynchronous processing and Messaging architectures – Kafka

• Experience with Agile development methodologies

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, team player and good interpersonal skills

• Experience with Large-volume consumer web infrastructure and security
