Job Description:
• A Bachelors or MS degree from a leading University in an engineering or Computer Science related subject area. Broadcast Engineering Certification, i.e. FCC license, Society of Broadcast Engineer (SBE) certification would be a plus.
• 5+ years industry experience, developing complex TV platforms, solutions and products across the content supply chain. AI and ML experience a plus
• 5 years minimum experience in broadcast operations including news, production, studio, linear, non-linear and live streaming, rights and adtech platforms for TV and Web
• Working knowledge of real time rendering techniques, algorithms, paradigms and related math.
• 2 years of experience of C/C++, software design, programming techniques, as well as AI and Deep Learning algorithms.
• 5+ years of cloud broadcast architecture and configuration – AWS, GCP or Azure
• 5+ years of experience in a consulting role with a leading consulting company
• Direct programming experience with real-time graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Vulkan and DirectX12, Tableau.
• Experience with parallel programming and distributed processing, ideally Apache Spark or CUDA C/C++, is a very strong plus.
• The ideal candidate would also have experience developing applications in one or more of the following: computer vision, video and image processing, graphics engines such as UE4 or Unity.
• Excellent communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, time management, and task prioritization skills.
• 6 years of broadcast engineering services functioning as a lead engineer
• Supporting, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting broadcast systems and IP based and network connected equipment such as HD production hybrid routers, multi viewers, production switchers, IP streamers, broadcast department network Layer 2/3 switches and content acceleration applications like Aspera and Signiant.
• Troubleshooting and managing centralized antimalware protection, imaged and restore system, DNS, AD, hypervisors, VM's, SAN, NAS, CDN's, media asset management (MAM), nonlinear editing, character generators (CG) and graphic engines
• Monitoring SNMP agent installed devices, gathering performance data, creating technical reports, forecast upcoming scenarios and submission of feedback
• Configuration of Windows and Unix and Linux based servers and systems, network and cloud administration and Broadcast IT systems such as Xen, Ovirt Virtual, Bitdefender GravityZone, Nagios XI, Dalet, NetApps, Okta, WS02, and Acronis
• Knowledge of broadcast transmitters and transmission patterns, ATSC 3.0
• 6 years of supporting on-air & post-production facilities, media asset management and transmission
• 4 years of responsibility in the maintenance and optimization of technologies vital to live and file-based digital workflows
• Develop Windows and Web applications using Python, Java, Javascript, C#, mySQL & Postgres databases
• Communicating solutions and issues to management, clients and colleagues in a professional manner including verbal, written using Visio, Power Point and collaboration tools
• Keeping a flexible schedule and be willing to train and support colleagues
• Daily interaction and communication with clients and internal staff.
• Ensuring compliance and understanding with company and FCC standards and guidelines
• Participation in ad hoc projects
• Experience with enterprise software platforms including, IAM APIM, SQL Database, Active directory, GPO's, automated software distribution techniques (MS SCCM or other), server virtualization (VMWare or other) and cloud computing (Amazon AWS or other) concepts
• Knowledge and curiosity in real time graphical or video image processing applications
• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production, media prep, distribution and familiar with all studio production equipment
• Knowledge of IT Networking and Systems, Firewalls, Fiber-Optics, MPEG, Final Cut, Adobe, Air Speed, satellite, Internet distribution – Zixi and SRT.
• Experience with providing technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of various equipment including Broadcast Audio, Video and Control Systems, Video Servers, Storage Area Networks, Telecommunications, & RF Systems including transmission technologies. Equipment includes Grass Valley switchers, Ross Xpression, RTS communications system, Ross Virtual Studio, Euphonix audio boards, EVS, Evertz Magnum, Multi Image, and terminal gear
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills
• Open and flexible personality to be able to work with partners.
• Good skill of how to synthesize information for various presentations
• Must have strong communication skills and be a team player
