Sr Hadoop Admin – Architect
Lead Engagement type - Migration HDP to CDP Private Cloud Base
Secondary - CDP Private Cloud Base Install
Special requirements - Oozie, Spark and Hive
Responsibilities:
· Company shall provide services to accomplish the upgrade of three (3) HDP v2.6.5 environments to CDP Private Cloud Base 7.x (CDP-PVC Base), or the latest version of Cloud Data Platform "CDP" and Private Cloud ("PVC") as applicable to Customer. CDP-PVC Base Upgrade Assessment and Planning.
· Company shall perform the following: Document future state CDP-PVC Base solution including guidance for application refactoring, especially for Oozie, Spark and Hive.
· Develop end to end CDP-PVC base upgrade plan and gain concurrence with Customer. Identify representative workloads to test on the Quality Assurance ("QA") cluster. Both parties shall jointly create an application test plan and identify all of Customer's responsible resources.
· Resolve known cluster issues to bring all services to green state before commencing the upgrade.
· Provide Customer with HDP 2.6.5 to CDP-PVC Base 7.1.x upgrade execution plan that includes tasks, sequence and any outages needed. Provide a list of project deliverables, referenced in Section 3c - e.
· Execute Cloudera platform upgrade(s). Company shall perform the following: Upgrade Development ("DEV") cluster from HDP 2.6.5 to CDP-PVC Base 7.1.x. Validate the upgraded base cluster for configuration and performance.
· Perform issue resolution during application/workload testing. Perform issue resolution during 3rd party testing activities.
· Apply any identified fixes to upgraded clusters based on initial health check. Validate performance of prior usage patterns.
· Create a new runbook for the CDP-PVC 7.1.x upgrade. Update the execution plan of QA and Production ("Prod") environment, as necessary.
· Review the QA upgrade plan with customer, including pre-requisites, human resource requirements. Upgrade QA cluster from HDP 2.6.5 to CDP-PVC Base 7.1.x.
· Validate the QA upgrade for configuration and performance. Perform issue resolution during application/workload testing. Perform issue resolution during 3rd party testing activities.
· Apply any identified fixes to upgraded clusters based on UAT cluster upgrade. Upgrade Production cluster from HDP 2.6.5 to CDP-PVC Base 7.1.x.
· Validate the Production upgrade for configuration and performance. Perform issue resolution during application/workload testing.
· Perform issue resolution during 3rd party testing activities. Apply any identified fixes to upgraded clusters based on Prod cluster upgrade. Post upgrade activities (as applicable).
· Company shall perform the following: Provide a list of recommendations, associated with changes needed to be made to the Hadoop platform ecosystem to improve functionality, performance, etc.
· Implement and jointly validate agreed upon recommendations based on priority.
· Analyze any sub optimal performance issues and assist in optimizing them.
· Troubleshoot list of open operation issues and resolving them as applicable. Troubleshoot current application integration issues and resolve them jointly with 3rd party provider.
· Conduct knowledge transfer and coach Customer team members. Extended Support. In addition to the Services specified in this SOW, Company will provide Cloudera Extended Support to Customer during the Period of Performance, and such Cloudera Extended Support will be provided solely for the HDP subscriptions being upgraded to CDP-PVC Base as outlines in Exhibit B "Supplement for Extended Support."
