Mandatory Technical skills required:

Migrating on-premise PostgreSQL to Azure Cloud.

Migrating Azure database for PostgreSQL (Single server) to Migrating Azure database for PostgreSQL (Flexible server)

Job Description:

13+ years of IT experience and minimum of 5+ years of experience on PostgreSQL database administration. Should have worked with the team size of above 10 members & technically guided the team. Willing to provide 24x7 support, flexible to work in the shifts

 

Primary skills:

Planning for Production Storage and Capacity Management.

Create logical models and build physical models

Planning for Production Storage and Capacity Management.

Creation, managing & migrating PostgreSQL schema, tables, tablespaces and users, roles & group in 10.x, 11.x,12.x,13.x, 14.x, 15.x to Azure Cloud including PaaS (Azure database for PostgreSQL single & flexible servers)

Performance tuning, Query tuning by generating and explaining plan for SQL queries.

Expert in DBA functions like managing databases, backup & restore, scheduling jobs, space, performance management, principles of database replication, scalability and high availability.

Expert in Backup & Recovery including Pg_dump, pg_dumpall, setting up WAL archiving, Point in time recovery.

Analyze, recommend, and implement configuration for Optimized Performance.

Ability to plan hardware capacity requirements for storage, memory and CPU Cycles.

Ability to configure and troubleshoot, log shipping, cascading standbys, partial replication, continuous recovery, detach and reattach slaves.

Understanding of UNIX environment with shell scripting.

Trouble shooting and resolving database issues.

This role may entail shift & after-hours support on an on-call basis.

HA/DR Setup including logical, physical standby

Conforming to client compliances and expectations

This role may entail shift & after-hours support on an on-call basis.

Good working experience all HA and DR solutions.

 

Mandatory Technical skills required:

Security setup: Enabling & Configuring SSL Certificate Authentication to encrypt data transfer

Day –to-day PostgreSQL 

 

Good to have:

Any of the following PostgreSQL certificate:

PostgreSQL Associate 

PostgreSQL Professional

 

Soft Skills:

Good customer connects. Prepare solution presentations.

Positive attitude and excellent communication skills to manage customer calls.
