Responsibilities:

 

Work with LADWP stakeholders, evaluate current PMO posture, work with IT PMO, contribute to project portfolio management, enhance PMO documentation, outline PMO overview documents, assist with project management tools, define performance metrics, improve change management, conduct knowledge transfer, develop resource planning tools

 

The work shall include, but is not limited to:

 

·        Work with the LADWP stakeholders to refine the objectives and goals of enhancing the PMO. This could include improving project management practices, increasing project success rates, enhancing organizational efficiency, or implementing standardized processes and methodologies.

·        Evaluate the current PMO posture and define a scope of responsibilities in developing and improving the PMO. This may involve conducting a current state assessment, developing a PMO implementation plan, designing project governance structures, or establishing project management methodologies.

·        Work with IT PMO to analyze and establish the governance and organizational structure of the PMO. This may include refining roles and responsibilities, reporting lines, decision-making processes, and escalation procedures within the PMO.

·        Work with IT PMO to define any improvements for the development and implementation of PMO processes and methodologies. This could include project initiation and selection, project planning and execution, project monitoring and control, risk management, and change management processes.

·        Contribute to the establishment of project portfolio management practices within the PMO. This may involve developing criteria for project prioritization and selection, implementing project portfolio tracking and reporting mechanisms, and conducting regular portfolio reviews.

·        Work on enhancement of PMO documentation and templates. This could include project charters, project management plans, project status reports, lessons learned templates, and other project management artifacts.

·        Outline the development and delivery of PMO overview documents for project managers and stakeholders. This may include overview on project management methodologies, project governance, project reporting, or other relevant topics to enhance project management framework.

·        Assist with adoption of project management tools and technologies to support the PMO. This may involve assessing existing tools, recommending new tools, and overseeing the implementation and integration of selected tools.

·        Work with IT PMO to define the performance metrics and reporting requirements for the PMO. This could include developing KPIs for project success, establishing project performance reporting mechanisms, and creating dashboards to track project and portfolio health.

·        Improve organizational change management approach and ensure its successful adoption for the PMO. This may include developing a change management plan, conducting stakeholder analysis, providing training and support to project teams, and facilitating the cultural shift towards project management excellence.

·        Conduct extensive knowledge transfer and documentation of all tasks performed, training of PMO staff and project managers in project management principles and developing repeatable processes that can be carried out by PMO staff.

·        Develop and implement resource planning and resource management tools, processes, and procedures.
