Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data architecture and solution design for Snowflake-based data platforms, including:
    • Logical and physical data models
    • Data ingestion patterns
    • Batch and streaming architectures
    • Snowpipe implementation
    • Storage layers (Raw, Curated, Consumption)
    • Semantic layer design
    • Data consumption patterns for Analytics, BI, and AI/ML
  • Design and optimize scalable, high-performance data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architectures on Snowflake with a focus on:
    • Performance tuning
    • Query optimization
    • Cost management
    • Warehouse sizing strategies
    • Auto-scaling
  • Architect and implement AI-powered solutions using Snowflake Cortex, including:
    • Cortex LLM Functions
    • Cortex Search (Semantic Search, Vector Search, RAG)
    • Cortex Analyst (Conversational Analytics)
    • Document AI
    • Integration with external LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) for fine-tuning, AI agents, and multimodal data processing
  • Define and enforce data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including:
    • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
    • Row- and Column-Level Security
    • Dynamic Data Masking
    • Encryption
    • Secure Data Sharing
    • Private Listings
  • Design and implement enterprise data pipelines integrating data from:
    • On-premises systems
    • Cloud platforms
    • SaaS applications
    • Orchestration tools
  • Implement real-time processing capabilities using:
    • Snowflake Streams
    • Tasks
    • Snowpark (Python, Scala, Java)
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver governed, reusable data products that accelerate analytics and AI initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership for migration projects from legacy data platforms (on-premises warehouses and other cloud platforms) to Snowflake.
  • Establish enterprise reference architectures, best practices, design patterns, and development standards.
  • Monitor platform health and optimize for:
    • Cost
    • Performance
    • Disaster Recovery (DR)
    • Replication
    • High Availability (HA)
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers, conduct architecture and design reviews, and promote best practices in:
    • Data Vault 2.0
    • Kimball Dimensional Modeling
    • Hybrid Semantic Modeling
    • AI-ready data architecture

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Platforms, with at least 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake architecture and optimization.
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake features, including:
    • Virtual Warehouses
    • Resource Monitors
    • Zero-Copy Cloning
    • Time Travel
    • Secure Data Sharing
    • Snowpark
    • Streams & Tasks
    • Security & Governance
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • SQL
    • Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling
    • ETL/ELT Architecture
    • Cloud Data Platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proven experience designing secure, scalable architectures supporting:
    • Analytics
    • Reporting
    • Machine Learning
    • AI workloads
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data Governance
    • Data Quality
    • Data Lineage
    • Compliance standards (GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and solution architecture skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI, including:
    • Cortex Search
    • Cortex Analyst
    • Cortex LLM Functions
    • Vector Embeddings
    • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
    • AI Agent development within Snowflake
  • SnowPro certifications:
    • SnowPro Core
    • SnowPro Advanced
    • SnowPro Architect (preferred)
  • Experience with modern data engineering tools such as:
    • dbt
    • Apache Airflow
    • Apache Kafka
    • Apache Spark
    • Fivetran
    • Matillion
    • or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of:
    • AI/ML workflows
    • Vector Databases
    • Semantic Search
    • Integration of structured and unstructured data for Generative AI
  • Strong background in:
    • Data Vault 2.0
    • Kimball Dimensional Modeling
    • Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
  • Experience in regulated industries such as:
    • Financial Services
    • Healthcare
    • Pharmaceuticals
    • Large-scale Enterprise environments (preferred)
