Senior Technical Consultants on design and development issues, and may act in the role of senior technical developer to assist in revamping the Child Care Provider Portal as well as stabilizing other key modules of the Child Care System including Curam upgrades and other technical requirements in the system.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

leading functional and detailed requirement development, code development, Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, functional and detailed design, and life cycle management for the implementation of NC FAST.

 

Areas of focus will include business and workflow process modeling, and business reengineering using Curam.

 

These activities will involve the use of COTS COram Enterprise Framework Components, Curam Intelligent Evidence Gathering (IEG2), REACT, Curam Express Rules for Triage (CERT), Oracle, use of XML technology in Curam, Curam Evidence Framework, Subversion, and WebSphere.

 

This role will actively work with Salesforce resources and middleware resources such as developing new web services for Mulesoft and/or IIB. Responsibilities also include reporting statuses to the NC FAST Project Manager and adhering to DHHS policies and procedures.

Job description:

The Azure Data Engineering Architect will be responsible for supporting the Data and Analytics team while the DCW team is designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure on the Azure platform, including the use of Azure Machine Learning Services, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and other data load services as required. This position will provide technical architecture and design support to multiple teams:

• Data Science teams that clean and analyze data, answer questions and provide metrics to solve business problems and develop apps using ML/AI capabilities.
• Data engineering teams that, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and architectures, which the data science teams use for providing analytical capabilities and application development.  

 

Responsibilities:

• Designing and architecting data processing environments and pipelines that can handle the volume and complexity of data we are dealing with, such as data related to water quality, water usage, field sensors, and infrastructure.
• Ensuring data quality and accuracy by implementing data governance processes and tools, such as data validation rules and automated data cleaning processes.
• Optimizing performance by tuning our data infrastructure and implementing best practices, such as data compression and indexing.
• Scaling our data infrastructure as needed to meet the demands of our business.
• Providing guidance and support to our operations team on best practices for data management and integration, including the use of Azure Machine Learning Services, Synapse, and Databricks.

 

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of IT experience.
• Deep development and design experience with databases, data warehouses, and analytical systems on Azure.
• Architecture knowledge, proficiency, and strategic experience in architecting the Azure Data Engineering environment, tools, and capabilities are required.
• Experienced in management of cloud subscription and usage costs and building business cases for new tools and capabilities.
• Desirable: familiarity with Aveva/ OSISoft PI system and SCADA systems.
• Well-versed in competing cloud technologies for data engineering and experience in integration of multiple cloud capabilities.
