Job Description:
• Recommends areas for optimization of database performance.
• Implements robust backup and recovery procedures and creates a recovery strategy based on data volatility and application availability requirements.
• Proactively monitors the database environment and makes changes to data structures and Database configuration, SQL queries, and application logic to optimize performance.
• Ensures data availability using non-disruptive administration tactics.
• Works with developers and independently as needed to design, debug, implement, and maintain new and existing stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
• Forecasting: Predict growth based on application and data usage patterns and correspondingly, implement the necessary database and storage changes to accommodate the growth.
• Possesses sufficient in-depth SQL Server knowledge to understand and review SQL and host language programs and recommend changes for optimization.
• Design, debug, and implement customized business reports. Perform ad hoc data analysis as needed
• Implement security and encryption and provide 24/7 support for critical situations
• Troubleshooting bottlenecks and locking issues

Requirements for Database Administrator:
• College Degree.
• A minimum of 5 years directly related work experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Microsoft (or other recognized body) SQL certifications are a plus.
• Experience with configuration and administration of SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Knowledge and experience working with the following technologies a plus: .NET development (C#), l, TSQL, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ability to develop reports. Services (SSIS) and ability to develop reports.
• Data warehouse skills – (Prior experience designing and implementing data warehouses is a plus)
