Position: Release Automation Developer Engineer (Build/ Release Engineer)

Location:  Wellesley, MA

Duration: 06+ Months

• Must Haves:
• BS Degree in Engineering Computer Science or equivalent education / experience
• 8+ year of software development experience
• 4+Application Lifecycle Management concepts including continuous integration, continuous delivery'
• 4+ Experience building software using Java, SQL, JavaScript, GWT, JAX WS, REST, JPAStrong knowledge of OOD, software design patterns and principles
• Knowledge of JUnit and Test Driven Development practices
• 4+ Experience with source code repositories and version control systems and branch management (Perforce).
• 4+ Experience with build/continuous integration tools (Hudson, Jenkins).
• 4+Experience with build automation & software project management tools (Ant, Maven, Gradle).
• 4+ Experience in designing, building, maintaining and coordinating an automated build/ release from Development to production environment.
• 4+ Experience in integration with software tools such as checkstyle, static analysis, code coverage in the build process
• 4+ Experience with Web Technologies such as Java, relational databases, Resin, Play
• 2+ Extensive knowledge of Oracle DB administration, RDBMS schema and SQLs
• Knowledge of UNIX system administration and scripting languages to independently setup/teardown development/integration environment
• 5+ years of experience with scripting and automation, using common scripting languages and libraries (Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, Kickstart)
• 3+ years' experience using OpenStack or AWS features such as EC2, S3, EBS, ELB in a high-availability service infrastructure DevOps and cloud infrastructure tools – Puppet (preferred), Chef Monitoring and Log aggregation tools – Nagios, Munin/Cacti, Splunk, LogStash or similar VCS tools – Git, SVN Experience with systems automation (e.g. Puppet/Chef/etc.)

 

• Candidate Responsibilities:  As the Build/ Release Engineer you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Development and Operations organizations to implement the necessary tools and process to support the automation of builds, deployments, testing and infrastructure (infrastructure as code). This will include assessing and implementing robust monitoring, alerting and logging tools, automating application builds, deployments, testing and the automation of environment build out. 
• Package and prepare all software for deployment Setup and automate development, testing, staging, and production systems for new services
• Plan and automate software deployments and service upgrades
• Develop systems and software to monitor and report service information
• Develop systems and software to help generate projections for future scaling needs
