Job Details:     

Role: IT Network Engineer (CCIE)
Location: - Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 24+ months
Positions: 07

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform technical analysis of the current as-built network/infrastructure for the purpose of designing and implementing any new IT network/infrastructure solution required.
  • Gather and define functional and technical requirements.
  • Create conceptual and architectural designs, specifications, IT infrastructure implementation plans.
  • Provide network infrastructure/systems support and transition knowledge to implementation (delivery) and operations (Run) teams.
  • Participate in strategy and planning discussions with business group to drive alignment with the missions and values for Infrastructure.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather infrastructure requirements and produce high-level infrastructure designs including cost and timeline estimates
  • Developing and driving consistent process adoption within IT infrastructure.
  • Lead and/or contribute on "major projects" utilizing a structured Project Management Methodology.
  • Define technology roadmaps based on business needs and vendor technology enhancements
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendation to management including planning and execution of POR activities.
  • Continuously document with drawings the network topologies, design, and all details

Requirements:

  • 09+ to 12 years related experience in a medium to large network distribution and computing environment.

Detailed understanding of:

  1. Routing protocols:  OSPF, ISIS, BGPMPLS VPN, VPLSMulticast
  2. Switching:  802.1p/q, STPVRRP Juniper EX, Virtual Chassis, 802.11 WLAN
  3. Security:  Layer 2 and 3 firewalls, IPSec and SSL VPN, RADIUS/TACACS, IDS/IPS, 802.1x
  4. Access control:  Juniper UAC or equivalent
  5. Data Center:  Load Balancing, virtualized switching, inter-VM security
  • Strong understanding of emerging business solutions and technologies in the Network Engineering field including competing technologies for high availability, virtualization, wireless network services, device management, and Security.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical decision making skills.
  • Excellent English communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate business requirements into technology solutions
  • Experience in presenting a plan (strategy, technical, engagement model) to a broad audience and influencing decisions
  • Ability to present data in a clear and concise format
  • Proven project management skills, including ability to break down projects into smaller tasks, assign timelines, and drive execution.
  • Service oriented approach to address technology issues and solutions.
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects worldwide at a time
  • Understanding of current trends of networking technologies
  • Providing direction and mentoring others
  • Able and willing to support global organization by working across multiple time zones
  • Able to work well in a team, be customer focused, and has a positive outlook
  • JNCIE certification or equivalent (CCIE)
  • BS Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Unix administration and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of writing and troubleshooting shell & Perl scripts
