Job Title: Network Infrastructure Solution Architect

Location: Lansing, MI - Remote

Duration: 12 Months

 

DTMB Platform, Design and Support Services is seeking a highly consultative engagement from a qualified technical Data Center Network Infrastructure Architect / Engineer to assist and work with the Data Center Infrastructure Services team with design, implementation, maintaining, troubleshooting, and actively participate in and becoming familiar with the State of Michigan Next Generation Data Center Infrastructure Services. This role will be involved with infrastructure design oversight, deployment, troubleshooting and management, and a mentor to junior team members.

This working model for this position will be hybrid.  This is a flexible work culture to work remotely with possible two days on site to meet with team members.

work with a team of highly skilled engineers and architects to develop, design, configure, secure, and support the State of Michigan Next Generation Digital Infrastructure.  As a member of the State of Michigan IT Platform, Design and Support Services team.  This Infrastructure Solution Architect/Engineer is responsible for following all State of Michigan policies.

We are looking for a collaborative team player that is comfortable supporting a hybrid workforce at all levels of the organization.  Applicants should possess exceptional analytical, communication and follow up skills along with an understanding of the Agile framework.

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

• Assit with developing and the design of solutions to existing and upcoming technical problems.
• Implementation and support of data center network solutions.
• Supporting the State of Michigan DTMB CTO Platform Support and Services manager and Data Center Infrastructure Services.
• Design / Architect solutions that support efficiencies with the State of Michigan Next Generation Digital Infrustructure (NGDI).
• Provide resolution of conflicts, connectivity and security issues.
• Performing security testing such vulnerability assessments or penetration tests to identify security misconfigurations or vulnerable software.
• Remediate security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests.
• Monitor, upgrade, troubleshooting and maintenance for the network infrastructure.
• Provide resolution of configuration, connectivity and security issues.
• Develop and execute Requests for Change (RFC) within the agency as it relates to the NGDI environment.
• Design, implement and operate systems with adherance to industry compliance such as PCI, HIPAA, CJIS, and etc.
• Prepare information for presentations for various workgroups that involve NGDI.
• Mentor staff on tips, techniques and best practices to be utilized for the infrastructure environment.
• Perform related work as is deemed necessary by the supervisor.
• Inform management of issues and risks as they arise and statuses in a timely manner as they change.
• Participate in any DTMB or statewide IT initiatives.

Qualifications	Required/Desired	Experience
Expertise in data center networking and operational system fundamentals. Proven knowledge, skills and experience.	Required	5 years
CCIE	Desired	2 years
CCNP Data Center	Highly desired	2 years
Cisco Nexus & Catalyst expertise	Required	5 years
Strong Cisco UCS and VMware knowledge and expertise	Highly Desired	3 years
Strong experience with SDN solutions, i.e. Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-V & NSX-T	Highly Desired	2 years
Experience in remediating security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests	Required	5 years
Ability to design, implement and maintain solutions with adherence to industry compliance such as PCI, HIPAA, CJIS and etc.	Required	5 years
Experience with IP-based and fiber channel networking for NAS/SAN technologies	Desired	2 years
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel	Required	2 years
Passed ITIL Foundation	Desired
