Short Description:

The ERP Developer is responsible for working with current State of Iowa integrations

staff on integration analysis, development, testing, debugging and fixing integrations between

Workday and existing state systems and other external vendor systems. 

 

Complete Description:

The ERP Developer 3 (EED 3) is responsible for working with current State of Iowa integrations

staff on integration analysis, development, testing, debugging and fixing integrations between

Workday and existing state systems and other external vendor systems. This position will have two primary roles, productions support and product implementation.  

Production Support: This role will work with business and technical resources to help identify

issues, determine root cause, implement the resolution, assist with testing as needed in the

Sandbox environment and ensure the fix is implemented in production for Workday HCM. Product Implementation: This role will work with business and technical resources from the

vendor and the State of Iowa to help define requirements and build identified integrations

working towards a production implementation for Workday Financials. You will work with

Business and Technical owners through the build, implementation and testing process,

maintaining documentation for built integrations, and ensure compliance with State data

requirements.

 

Project details:

 

This project will replace many of the financial systems currently used by the state of Iowa

including accounting, procurement, expenses, etc. with a cloud-based ERP solution called

Workday. To leverage the capabilities of Workday, a new ERP system, the state of Iowa is

implementing, streamlining, and re-engineering business processes based on best practices

while continuing to meet state and federal requirements. Integrations will be created to

exchange data with existing in-house or proprietary systems, vendor applications, and other

state entity external systems.

Skills and Technologies: Experience with Agile/Scrum framework. Required skills and knowledge include Workday integration design (EIB, Studio, Cloud Connectors), working with Workday reports and calculated fields, REST API, and ETL processes.  Preferred skills and experience include Workday HCM & Financials, NET, VB.NET, C#, or Java. The ERP Developer (EED) is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component, and assembly testing of all application code owned by the ERP Team.  The EED is involved in enhancement, and development work. He or she has a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the ERP Team. The EED reviews, analyzes and modifies the programming systems including encoding, testing, and debugging to support an organization's ERP applications.  He or she ensures that the software can be completely integrated into the ERP system. The EED works with the ERP Project Manager, Business Analyst, Architect, and other ERP Team members on an as needed basis to ensure that the design and code meet customer requirements.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

•    Confers with other business and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of computer processing.

•    Work with affected personnel to determine if modifications or enhancements are accurate and necessary.

•    Leverage written and verbal communication skills to understand business processes and programming solutions as directed by ERP business and technical stakeholders.

•    Proven track record of hands-on ERP technical design and code work within large complex systems.

•    Demonstrated technical expertise integrating a variety of diverse ERP technical environments (Workday Financials) and cross-platform technologies.

•    Able to work independently and in a team environment.

•    Document progress and/or issues related to work tasks.

•    Able to make ERP best practice recommendations based on past work.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

•    Workday Integration support in production (including one or more of the following: Studio, EIB, Cloud Connectors) - REQUIRED - 3-5 year

•    Workday Integration Development (including one or more of the following: Studio, EIB, Cloud Connectors) - REQUIRED - 3-5 years

•    Workday Reporting Experience (Reports, Calculated Fields, etc.) – REQUIRED – 1-3 years

•    Knowledge of Workday HCM & Financials – REQUIRED – 1-2 year

•    ETL – REQUIRED – 3 years

•    SQL – REQUIRED – -2-4 years

•    Knowledge or programming fundamentals - Rest API, SQL, SDLC, etc.- REQUIRED –2-3 years

•    System Requirements Gathering – REQUIRED – 4 years

•    Demonstrated ability to create and maintain documentation
