Sr Hadoop Developer / Data Engineer with AWS Data Lake Exp

The customer will look for expert advisor for strategic direction as well as day to day final point of escalation to triage technical issues. The role will rely on experienced candidate architects that are passionate about databases, data warehouses, data lakes and the fast pace of development of these in the cloud. Lead multilple teams focused on operational excellence in on-premises and cloud, AWS services and Database Operations and Data Lake operations.
Tech Lead for Operations for on premise data lake
● Day to day team leadership and final point of escalation for technical triage. Well versed in the internals of Hadoop
● A solid understanding of Spark execution, supporting developers in operations teams in triage of hundreds of spark jobs running on tight SLAs
● Well versed in database technologies relevant to SQL and performance issues that stems from sql executing in the datalake environment.
● Working knowledge of No SQL as it pertains to operational triage of the environment, supporting tight SLA mobile application running on MapRDB
● The team leverages Apache Drill, extensively, a working knowledge of drill will be a plus.
● MapR exposure is a plus
● Streamsets exposure is a plus
Lead the architecture efforts for migration of on premise to cloud data lake.
● Strong understanding of AWS and EMR, supporting increasing workloads under tight SLAs in the cloud.
● Working knowledge of services in AWS pertaining to data transformation relevant for a typical datal lifecycle in a data lake ecosystem.
● Solid understanding of networking principles, relevant to help navigate the team through configuration and design of routing requirements between hybrid cloud environment configurations.
● Solid understanding of AWS security principles as it pertains to access to AWS services in particular and S3/Data Lake on EMR
Lead services development and operations for AWS data services team
● This is a newly formed team that is rapidly expanding withing the AWS ecosystem.
● Strong DBA/Architect of Databases and Analytics Services at AWS covering a range of data platforms including Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena
● Help develop and adopt best practices for operational excellence in the AWS ecosystem.
● Leverage both cloud native and legacy technologies for operational monitoring.
Other specific responsibilities
● Engage with technical leadership in the company
● Coordinate resources and efforts including operations roadmap, contributing to application design roadmaps.
● Solve challenging problems that will accelerate the company footprint to cloud.
● Exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams
● Working with professional services contractors, enterprise architects and product teams to drive technology adoption and roadmap to cloud.
● Assess workloads, qualifying applications that are suitable for migration and provide expert advice in solution design as well as technology roadmaps.
● Identifying technical solutions to migration roadblocks and guiding database and application developers to implementation
