Sr Hadoop Admin – Architect ( CDH )

Remote

We have a Cloudera pos- CDH Cluster HealthCheck.  Oozie, Solr, HBase, and Yarn required.

 

Start date is as soon as possible for 20 days duration. 

 

Full Scope:

• Oozie hbase scheduler:  Has a recurring issue that causes failures to workflows and jobs and requires manual intervention to restart
• Solr:  Solr workloads continue to increase.  2 Solr regions (dedicated nodes within cluster) are configured to support workloads.  These do not scale effectively.  Strategy for scaling Solr is needed: process to monitor and identify Solr workload volume and trending so scaling can be automated or planned with enough lead time to avoid performance degradation and business impact.
• Hbase / Phoenix:  Ongoing performance issues.  Comprehensive review of architecture, Region servers/node, configuration and performance parameter tuning, etc.
• Yarn:  CDH Cluster is a multi-tenant environment.  BIS owns ~ 75% of all cluster resources.  Initial cluster design was cost optimized to share resources when BIS workloads were not fully utilizing its share.  SLA management is now the highest priority.  Review of YARN resource parameters required to validate and verify that BIS workloads are prioritized
• Other:  Full cluster review (Healthcheck) to ensure that all settings, configurations, data balancing, data volumes, garbage collection, network traffic, etc. are within best practice recommendations
