Job Description:

Analyzes, modifies, and supports ColdFusion applications systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support organization's business.  Gathers requirements from users and creates specifications and develops code.  Designs and writes code to support existing application.  Interacts with SQL Server database platform to utilize data within business applications and reporting queries.  Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures using various programming languages.  Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Performs a variety of IT related tasks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs routine programming assignments requiring demonstrated expertise with ColdFusion programming language, knowledge of established programming procedures, and data processing requirements.

Maintains and modifies routine programs; makes approved changes by amending flow charts, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.

Writes new program code using prescribed specifications, as appropriate.  Tests and develops modifications and writes operational instructions.

Evaluates simple interrelationships between programs, e.g. whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.

Analyzes performance of programs and takes action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor.

Confers with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

Knowledge of established programming procedures and programming languages.

Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.

Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.

Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.

Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.

Ability to communicate with and interpret the operational requirements of end users.

Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes.

 

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of 5 years of programming experience with ColdFusion.

Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.

Computer Skills

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server database platform.

Knowledge of SAP and JDEdwards (One World) ERP system preferred.

Knowledge of Business Objects reporting software preferred.
