Position : Data warehouse Tester

Location : TX, Austin

Duration : 12+ month

Interview : Phone and Face To Face Hire

 

 QA REQUIREMENTS: The candidates will be responsible for the following: Testing experience in Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence project (absolute must-have) Strong understanding of Data Warehouse principles including Fact and Dimension Tables in a Star Schema model Strong SQL skills required (absolute must-have) Very strong QA process backgrounds (Planning, Designing, execution and reporting of tests and defects) Experience with testing both Type 1 and Type 2 Slowly Changing Dimension (SCD) Data Warehousing tables. The ability to translate business requirements and/or report specifications into QA test cases. The ability to validate Data Warehouse specific tenants such as business to surrogate key mapping, validation of slowly changing dimension logic and testing source to target data lineage Strong experience in validating Fact and Dimension tables with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 utilizing data models and mapping documents SSIS experience would be beneficial MicroStrategy experience would be a plus Strong experience in performing data analysis and root cause analysis techniques Experience writing Stored Procedures and triggers using t/SQL a plus Experience in a financial / banking environment strongly preferred. Strong experience validating reports and comparing back to source system. Extensive experience in creating Test Plans and Testing approaches in a Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence environment is required. (planning, designing, management, execution and reporting of test cases and defects as well as the entire testing effort around a reporting/Data Warehouse project) Nice to have: This person should have experience in directing a testing effort for a Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence project. Experience in leading a testing team and being responsible for test planning and scheduling
